The dark cloud, which was looming large over the possibility of online gambling to get the nod in New Jersey, is slowly moving away. Now, experts believe that the chances of gamblers enjoying convenience of online gambling in New Jersey are getting better with each passing day.
Everyone knows that the legislation received approval from Senate and Assembly in December 2012. This legislation gives gamblers in the state approval for playing online real money casino games from their own computer.
Bets, which they will place, are going to help in generating the revenue for the online casino, where they are playing. Again, players also have the scope of earning club points.
Sean Conner, who is an official from the press office of Gov. Chris Christie, said that their lawyers are working hard to examine the proposed bill for finding out, if it is constitutional or not. At this moment, it is illegal to gamble outside of Atlantic City.
Even though there was a bill similar to this, which was vetoed by Christie in 2011, in this case, the gambling equipments would be required to be located in the participating casinos. This means that implementation of a constitutional amendment is going to be unnecessary.
Time is running out for Christie as well. If by February 4, he does not sign or vetoes the bill, it is going to be a law automatically.
Already top online casinos from across the globe are showing interest in setting up bases in the state (for Example, Poker Stars) to make sure that whenever the online services are started in the Atlantic City, they would be there to provide the same.
